“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream”—C.S Lewis.

Where are you at this point in your personal life and ministry? Are you completely happy with where you are or are there areas in which you would like to move forward?

From the time I was 16 years old my dream was to work with Teen Challenge (TC). My dream began to be realized when I took the step of going on a weekend ministry at a TC center. After college that dream became an intentional goal as I sent out resumes for employment positions.

Throughout my life I have had the privilege of working in TC centers; from work supervisor, cook, counselor, secretary/bookkeeper, program director, executive director, volunteer, and board member. My dreams and goals became realities because of the many small intentional steps I took. God has now brought me full circle back to working with Teen Challenge as a coach. What a privilege!

What dreams and goals do you have for your ministry or personal life? Have they been derailed and has God’s voice been quieted because of the day-to-day activities that pull you in so many directions? Although getting back on track may look overwhelming, it is not, when taken one step at a time.

My challenge to you is this:

  1.  List five areas in your personal life or ministry in which you would like to see more forward movement.
  2.  Prioritize the list and circle the top priority.
  3.  List one action step you can take this week to move forward in this area.
  4.  And ask yourself these questions:
    • What step will I take? (It doesn’t have to be a big step, even a half step will do. But it must be something that you in all honesty will do.)
    • When will I do this?
    • What, if anything, will keep me from completing this step?
    • Who will I be accountable to after I have completed this step?

Let your action begin today. Be intentional, and be focused. Listen to what God has put in your heart and set your course by taking one step at a time. Remember, it’s never too late to see your dreams and goals realized!
