“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’
“Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’
“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!”
~ Matthew 25:34-40
Teen Challenge is a “Least of These” ministry! We reach out to the marginalized of society. I believe Teen Challenge is a ministry that beats with the heart of God! He loves the people we reach out to.
Ten reason we do what we do:
- Because Jesus said, “If you do it to the least among us, you do it unto me.”
- Other programs are available to help them with addiction but TC serves a greater purpose – to restore them to relationship with the Father!
- Once delivered they become a modern sign and wonder of the miracle working power of God. They can clearly show the church and the world that “if any man be in Christ Jesus, old things pass away; behold, all things become new.”
- They serve as a key to reach their family for Christ.
- They can bring many other sinners to Christ, as their old friends see the transformation of God’s love in their lives.
- They will give hope to all others trapped in seemingly hopeless desperation.
- Their salvation can stop the cycle of generational sins of future generations.
- Their spiritual and emotional needs help the church to understand the importance of long-term discipleship.
- They are the future leaders of TC and the church.
- They are a ripe harvest field ready to hear the Good News.
Teen Challenge was birthed as an evangelistic outreach. Outreach is part of our DNA. Reaching the lost is who we are: We pray. We proclaim. We love. We disciple.
As a member of the Teen Challenge family, how are you a part of reaching the world—your corner of it and beyond?
Today, we invite you to pause with purpose. Pray, and ask God: “How can I effectively reach the lost, according to the areas that You’ve placed on my heart?”
Together, we will reach those trapped in the shadows of sin and addiction!
