Pastor Steve Hill, a Teen Challenge graduate, has finished his assignment on earth and moved to his eternal home in heaven. In 1975 a friend led Steve to God and his life was never the same. Steve was facing several charges, but instead of doing jail time, God allowed him to enter Outreach Ministries and then Teen Challenge.
Steve says it best, “In Teen Challenge, I learned to put feet to my faith. I learned to live out my professions of love and faith in Christ. I was established in the basics – being water-baptized, being filled with the Holy Spirit, learning how not just to read but to study the Bible and become disciplined in prayer.”
“God gave me not only a new heart, but also a new mind. My mind had become a sewer – filled with garbage, lust, hatred, bitterness, despair, and the like. And when Jesus set me free, forgave my sins and came into my heart, He cleansed me of all filth in my conscious mind.”
“What thrilled me most at Teen Challenge however, was learning to win souls.” Steve asked God to use him to reach people for His kingdom. God answered that He would work through Steve to accomplish greater things than Steve could imagine. How true this was. Steve and his wife Jeri, served as missionaries, church planters, and held evangelistic crusades.
From 1995 to 2000, Hill served as the evangelist of the Brownsville Revival. The meetings drew over 4 million from more than 150 nations through the doors of the Brownsville Assembly of God Church.
During the five-year revival, hundreds of thousands wept at the altars, repented of sinful lifestyles, and gave their lives to Jesus. Lives were dramatically changed, marriages were restored, and addictions were broken as the gospel of Jesus Christ was shared. After Brownsville, Steve and his evangelistic team continued to hold arena and stadium crusades around the world.
Steve Hill also founded and served as senior pastor, along with is wife Jeri, of Heartland World Ministries Church in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Hill founded Heartland School of Ministry, a soul-winning, presence-driven ministry school, as well as ProdigalsOnly.com, a website that encourages people to come back to God.
Please remember Jeri and the children in your prayers.
